<br />-6- <br /> <br />Se c. 1 7 -15 . <br /> <br />Brie f on Appea 1. <br /> <br />(1) A defendant's brief on appeal from a municipal court <br />record must present points of error in the manner required <br />law for a brief on appeal to the court of appeals. <br /> <br />of <br />by <br /> <br />(2) The defendant must file the brief with the appellate court <br />clerk not later than the 15th day after the date on which the <br />transcript and statement of facts are filed with that clerk. <br />The defendant or the defendant's attorney must certify that the <br />brief has been properly mailed to the prosecuting attorney. <br /> <br />(3) The prosecuting attorney must file the appellee's brief <br />with the appellate court clerk not later than the 15th day after <br />the date on which the defendant's brief is filed. <br /> <br />(4) On filing, each party shall deliver a copy of the brief to <br />the opposing party and to the municipal judge. <br /> <br />Sec. 17-16. <br /> <br />Court Rules. <br /> <br />(I) Except as modified by this ordinance, the Code of Criminal <br />Procedure governs tbe trial of cases before the municipal courts <br />of record. The courts may make and enforce all rules of <br />practice and procedure necessary to expedite the trial of cases <br />before them that are not inconsistent with general law. <br /> <br />Se c. 17 -17 . <br /> <br />Seal. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City shall provide the municipal <br />court of record with a seal with a star of five points in the <br />center and the words "Municipa:t- Court of San Marcos Texas. Ii The <br />impress of the seal shall be attached to all papers, except <br />subpoenas, issued out of the court and shall be used by each <br />municipal judge or the municipal clerk to authenticate all <br />official acts of the clerk and the judge. <br /> <br />Sec. 17-18. <br /> <br />Evaluation of Municipal Court judges. <br /> <br />(1) The mayor shall appoint a committee of <br />of the City Council to evaluate the municipal <br />committee may be assisted and advised by <br />counsel retained by the City Council solely <br />the evaluations. <br /> <br />three (3) members <br />court judges.
