-7- SECTION 2Ø. That the City Council of said City shall, by resol ution duly adopted, appoinT. a Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of the Central Counting Station, and a Central Counting Station Manager, and any and all assistants appointed by the Tabulation Supervisor shall be subject to the approval of said City Council. SECTION 21. That said election shall be held under the provisions of and in accordance with the provisions of the Charter and Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, and in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas. SECTION 22. SECTION 24. That a copy of this Ordinance shall be del ivered on or before April 21, 1988 to the presiding judge of each election precincT- in which the election is ordered to be held, which copy shall serve as a notice or writ of election as required by Section 4.007 of Chapter 4 of the Election Code, V.T.C.A. SECTION 25. That testing of the automatic tabulating equipment shall be performed and notice thereof shall be given in accordance with Subchapter. D of Chapter 127 of the Election Code, V.T.C.A. SECTION 26. That the rate of compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the Tabulation Supervisor for services rendered during said joint general election by said City and the San Marcos Consol idated Independent School District to be held on May 7, 1988 be, and the same is hereby, established at Five Dollars ($5.00) per hour. SECTION 27. That the additional compensation to be paid judges who deliver reT.urns of said election is hereby established at Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00). SECTION 28. That the importance of this Ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity so that the provisions of the charter requiring that". ordinances shall be presented at three separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its final passage be suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the area.
