<br />16 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1988-35R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING <br />JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN THE <br />GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO <br />BE HELD ON MAY 7, 1988 AND CHARGING EACH SUCH <br />JUDGE WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD SAID ELECTION IN <br />HIS/HER RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACE FOR EACH <br />RESPECTIVE PRECINCT, APPOINTING A PRESIDING <br />JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A <br />TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br />STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION <br />MANAGER, APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY SAID <br />TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS, <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on February 8, 1988 and as amended on February 1Ø, 1988, <br />the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance <br />ordering the holding of a joint general election by said City and the <br />San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District and a special City <br />election on May 7, 1988, establishing the rate of compensation too be <br />paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for <br />services rendered duríng said election, making provisions for the <br />conduct of the election and other provisions incident to the purposes <br />thereof, and declaring an emergency: and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1Ø of said ordinance provides that the City <br />Council of said City, on or before April 21, 1988, shall, by resolution <br />duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in said <br />election at the polling places for the respective precincts set forth <br />in Section 9 thereof, and said ordinance further ordains that it. shall <br />be each such judge's duty to hold the election in said precincts and <br />that any vacancies occurring after the appointment of said judges may <br />be filled by subsequent resolution(s) of said City Council: and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 19 of said ordinance <br />Council of said City shall, by resolution <br />Presiding Judge of the Central Counting <br />Supervisor of said Central Counting Station, <br />Station Manager: now, therefore, <br /> <br />provides that the City <br />duly adopted, appoint a <br />Station; a Tabulation <br />and a Central Counting <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1.
