16 RESOLUTION 1988-35R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN THE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO BE HELD ON MAY 7, 1988 AND CHARGING EACH SUCH JUDGE WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD SAID ELECTION IN HIS/HER RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACE FOR EACH RESPECTIVE PRECINCT, APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER, APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY SAID TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on February 8, 1988 and as amended on February 1Ø, 1988, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a joint general election by said City and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District and a special City election on May 7, 1988, establishing the rate of compensation too be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for services rendered duríng said election, making provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency: and, WHEREAS, Section 1Ø of said ordinance provides that the City Council of said City, on or before April 21, 1988, shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in said election at the polling places for the respective precincts set forth in Section 9 thereof, and said ordinance further ordains that it. shall be each such judge's duty to hold the election in said precincts and that any vacancies occurring after the appointment of said judges may be filled by subsequent resolution(s) of said City Council: and, WHEREAS, Section 19 of said ordinance Council of said City shall, by resolution Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Supervisor of said Central Counting Station, Station Manager: now, therefore, provides that the City duly adopted, appoint a Station; a Tabulation and a Central Counting BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That the persons set forth hereinbelow are hereby appointed as presiding judges and alternate judges, respectively, to serve in said City's general and special election on May 7, 1988, at the respective polling places for the respective precincts set forth hereinbelow: Presiding Judge Alternate Judge Precinct Rose Brooks Frances Ybarra 13 Polling Place San Marcos High School Auditorium 1/2 mi.
