Narrative
page-20

We anticipate that the project will have a highly visible impact
on the library's overall programming statistics, borrower
registration and collection inventory statistics. It will also
help the Educational Opportunity Center achieve its goals of
helping to educate minority and low-income adults.

KII.

COOPERATION

The Lifelong Learning Project was planned in cooperation with
the Southwest Texas State University Educational Opportunity
Center (EOC). The library and the EOC are committed to a
successful cooperative effort to carry out the long-range goals
of the project. An agreement of cooperation signed by the
Directors of both agencies may be found in Appendix A.

Many other agencies provided valuable suggestions to us in
planning this project and have offered their support in a
variety of ways. The Hays County Adult Probation Department
will be an important æource of referrals for the project, as
will the Adult Education Program at the San Marcos High School.
The Souths ide Community Center has agreed to serve as a site for
our new story time program. The Community Action Agency and San
Marcos Interagency Council will assist us in developing our
social services fair. Letters of support from these and a
variety of other agencies can be found in Appendix B of the
narrative.
