<br />64 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1988-46R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COIJNCI L OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, J.E. YOUNGER, TO <br />SIGN A LETTER OF INTENT FOR THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS TO <br />PURCHASE PARKLAND IN COOPERATION WITH OTHER ENTITIES <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos is committed <br />to adding desirable parkland to the City's park system; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has an opportunity to <br />entities to purchase such parkland; and, <br /> <br />cooperate <br /> <br />with <br /> <br />other <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of San Marcos to express its <br />intent so that other entities may take those actions necessary to <br />purchase such property at a guaranteed price in order to benefit <br />the citizens of San Marcos; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such letter of intent to be signed by the Mayor creates <br />no legal obligation on the part of the City to complete such purchase <br />of parkland; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />IT <br /> <br />RESOLVED <br /> <br />BY <br /> <br />THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> <br />PART 1. That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, J.E. Younger, <br />is hereby authorized to sign a letter of intent to purchase parkland on <br />behalf of the City of San Marcos in cooperation with other entities. <br /> <br />PART 2.
