RESOLUTION NO. 2013-153R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS EXPRESSING THE CITY'S OPPOSITION TO A PROPOSED TRUCK STOP AT THE INTERSECTION OF YARRINGTON ROAD AND IH -35 ACCESS ROAD IN THE CITY OF KYLE; AND REQUESTING KYLE CITY OFFICIALS TO DENY ANY LEGISLATIVE APPROVALS IN SUPPORT OF THE TRUCK STOP; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. A truck stop is proposed to be built in the City of Kyle at the intersection of Yarrington Road and the IH -35 access road. This location is adjacent to the City of San Marcos. 2. The City of San Marcos recently adopted a new Comprehensive Plan and the City Council has determined that the proposed truck stop is not consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and does not support the City's interests. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The City Council of the City of San Marcos hereby expresses its opposition to the truck stop proposed to be built at the intersection of Yarrington Road and the iH -35 access road in the City of Kyle. PART 2. The City Council, therefore, hereby requests that the City Council of the City of Kyle deny any legislative approvals, including, but not limited to zoning recommendations and approvals, that would support the development of the truck stop at such location. PART 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage. ADOPTED on October 2, 2013.
