<br />64 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1988-98R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TERMS AND <br />CONDITIONS OF A CONTRACT WITH CHARLES ¡nLLIS <br />AND ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR ARCHITECTURAL <br />SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE FUNCTIONAL <br />REPLACEMENT OF FACILITIES AT GARY JOB CORPS <br />CENTER, AUTHORIZING THE MAY'OR OF THE CITY' OF <br />SAN MARCOS TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT ON BEHALF <br />OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Uni ted states Department of Labor will transfer <br />to the City of San Marcos certain land which currently borders the <br />Ci ty of San Harcos Municipal Airport and which is currently being <br />used by the Gary Job Corps upon said city's providing for the <br />functional replacement of Gary Job Corps Recreation Building, <br />Building Maintenance/Masonry Shop, Occupations Explorations Program <br />Building, Heavy Equipment/Repair Building, and Driver Training <br />Range; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary that said City engage the services of <br />a qualified architect to perform design and construction <br />administration services in connection with said land transfer; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos previously <br />authorized the City Manager and the City Attorney of said City to <br />negotiate a contract for architectural services with Charles Willis <br />& Associates, Inc.; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the terms and conditions of the contract between <br />the City of San Narcos and Charles v-Ji11is & Associates, Inc. for <br />archi tectural design and construction administration serv ices in <br />connection with the functional replacement of certain facilities of <br />Gary Job Corps Center pursuant to a land transfer betw'een the <br />Uni ted states Department of Labor and the Ci ty of San Marcos, a <br />copy of said contract being attached to this resolution as exhibit <br />"A" and made a part hereof for all purposes, are hereby approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the Mayor of the Ci ty of San Marcos, Texas, <br />Kathy M. Morr is be and she is hereby author i zed to execute sa id <br />contract on behalf of said City. <br /> <br />PART 3.
