<br />this end and to expressly assure its accomplishment, the city council shall <br />establish and maintain an ethics review commission, and shall adopt and maintain <br />a code of ethics for officials and employees of the City of San Marcos in <br />ordinance form. The city council shall appoint an ethics review commission <br />composed of seven citizens of the City of San Marcos to serve three-year <br />staggered terms. A chair shall be elected by a majority ofthe commission after the <br />annual appointment of members to the commission. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. The ballots for the City election will conform to the requirements of the <br />Texas Election Code, and will have the measures described in Section 2 of this Ordinance stated <br />as propositions as follows: <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.1 <br /> <br />FORI AGAINST <br /> <br />The amendment of Section 1.01 of the City Charter to more clearly <br />explain the nature and functions of the Charter. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.2 <br /> <br />FORI AGAINST <br /> <br />The amendment of Section 2.02 of the City Charter to restrict the <br />city's eminent domain authority related to economic development. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.3 <br /> <br />FORI AGAINST <br /> <br />The amendment of Section 3.01 of the City Charter to change the <br />term of office of the mayor from two years to three years. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.4 <br /> <br />FORI AGAINST <br /> <br />The amendment of Section 3.02 of the City Charter to delete the <br />requirement that a council member use the phone number at the <br />council member's residence as his or her home phone number. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.5 <br /> <br />FORI AGAINST <br /> <br />The amendment of Section 3.04 of the City Charter to provide <br />$100 per meeting compensation for council members, for up to <br />three meetings per month. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.6 <br /> <br />FORI AGAINST <br /> <br />The amendment of Section 3.05 of the City Charter to provide that <br />designation of a deputy mayor pro-tern is at the option of the <br />council. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO.7 <br /> <br />Election 2006 - Final <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />
