84 ORDINANCE 1988-72 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY' OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ALVIENDING SECTION 3Ø-28 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE THAT ALL WATER BILLS MUST BE PAID ON OR BEFORE THE FIFTEENTH DAY OF THE MONTH RATHER THAN ON OR BEFORE THE TENTH DAY OF THE MONTH, AND ESTABLISING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY' OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That Section 30-28 of the San Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: Marcos Code of S ec. 3 ø - 28 . When due and payable; delinquency. All water bills must be paid on or before the fifteenth day of the month in which the same fall due. In the event any water user of the city shall fail or refuse to pay his water bill on or before the fifteenth day of the month in which the same falls due, a delinquent service charge in the sum equivalent to ten per cent (10%) of such water bill shall be added to such bill and shall be paid by such water user to the ci ty. In the event any user of the munic ipal water system shall fail or refuse to pay his water bill within thirty (30) days after the date of billing, water service to such delinquent user shall be discontinued provided that such delinquent user shall have been given written notice of this prov i :Co' ion pr ior to the day on which the water serv ice is discontinued. PART 2. That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten (10) days from and after its passage, and it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as requi red 'by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas.
