Recœmendations :

'Ihe CONSUL'mNT shall analyze the information developed by inves-
tigation or otherwise available to the geotechnical engineer, including
those aspects of the subsurface conditions which may affect design and
construction of proposed structures, and shall consult with the CMner' s
architect on the design and engineering requirements of the project.
Based on such analysis and consultation, the CCfiSULTANT shall sul:mit a
professional evaluation and recarmendations for the necessary areas of
consideration, including but not limited to the follCMing:

1.

Foundation support of the structure and slabs, including soil
bearing pressures, bearing elevations, foundation design
recœmendations and anticipated settlement.

Anticipation of, and management of, groundwater for design of
structures and pavements .

2.

3.

Lateral earth pressures for design of walls belCM grade,
including backfill, canpaction and subdrainage, and their
requirements.

4.

Soil material and carpaction requirements for site fill,
construction backfill, and for the suR;X>rt of structures and
pavements.

5.

Pavement design (concrete & asphalt) light, medium and heavy
duty.

6.

Design criteria for temporary excavation and tElllpOrary
protection such as excavation sheeting, underpinning and
tatp:>rary dewatering systems .
