<br />13 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1988-112R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE <br />SUBMISSION OF A TEXAS COHt1UNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF <br />Cor.1MERCE FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FOR <br />THE CONSTRUCTION, ENGINEERING, AND <br />ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS OF A SEWER FORCE MAIN AND <br />LIFT STATION IN SAID CITY, AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID APPLICATION AS <br />THE CITY'S CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND TO ACT <br />AS ITS AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL <br />MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION <br />IN SAID COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FROM THE <br />WASTEWATER UTILITY FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$159,100.Ø0 FOR SAID PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos desires <br />to develop a viable urban community, including decent housing and <br />a suitable living environment and expanding economic <br />opportunities, principally for persons of low/moderate income; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, certain conditions exist which represent a threat to <br />the public health and safety; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interests of the <br />Ci ty of San Marcos to apply for fund ing under the 1988 Texas <br />Community Development Program; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'rHE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the submission by the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />of a Texas Community Development Program application, a copy of <br />which is at tached hereto and' incorporated herein, to the Texas <br />Department of Commerce in the amount of $250,ØØØ.Øø for the <br />construction, engineering, and administrative costs of a sewer <br />force main and lift station in said City for Community Development <br />Funds, is hereby authorized. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to <br />execute said application as the City's Chief Executive Officer and <br />is approved as the City's Authorized Representative in all matters <br />in connection with said application and the City's participation <br />in the Texas Community Development Program. <br /> <br />PART 3. That said appl ication be placed in competi tion for <br />funding under the Community Development Fund. <br /> <br />PART 4. That the expend i ture of funds in the amount of <br />$159,10Ø.0Ø from the Wastewater Utility Fund for the construction, <br />engineering and administrative costs of said project is hereby <br />authorized. <br /> <br />PART 5.
