<br />tJ <br /><:::) <br /> <br /> <br />46 <br /> <br /> <br />It) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1988-84 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE VIII, <br />SECTION 2-131 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS TO PROVIDE THAT ONE MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION <br />FOR MINORITIES MAY LIVE IN THE CITY'S EXTRATERRITORIAL <br />~]RISDICTION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That Section 2-131 of Chapter 2, Article VIII, of the <br />Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 2. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />. . . <br /> <br />ARTI C LE VI I I . <br /> <br />COMMISSION FOR MINORITIES <br /> <br />Sec. 2-131. <br /> <br />Composition; appointment of members; terms. <br /> <br />There is hereby established the Commission for Minorities. <br />Such Commission shall be composed of seven (7) persons, at least <br />six (6) of whom must be citizens of the City of San Marcos and <br />one of whom may live in the City's extraterritorial <br />jurisdiction, appointed by the Council, who are willing to <br />pursue a positive course of action for achieving equal rights <br />and responsibilities for all minorities and through their <br />activities have demonstrated their commitment to this goal. ... <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
