<br />89 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1988-131R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS <br />PUBLIC POWER MUTUAL AID PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE THE TEXAS PUBLIC POWER <br />ASSOCIATION MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos recognizes <br />reliable electric utility services; and, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />importance <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos desires to cooperate with other <br />utilities in the case of a natural disaster or other system emergency <br />to ensure a safe and expeditious restoration of electric utility <br />serv ices; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Public Power Association Mutual Aid Agreement <br />provides a structure for a voluntary assistance program; now, <br />there fore, <br /> <br />BE <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />IT <br /> <br />RESO LVED <br /> <br />BY <br /> <br />THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> <br />PART 1. That the City of San Marcos desires to participate in the <br />Texas Public Power Mutual Aid Program. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, on behalf of <br />said City is hereby authorized to execute the Texas Public Power <br />Association Mutual Aid Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto, <br />and the same is hereby approved pursuant to the terms and conditions <br />expressed therein. <br /> <br />PART 3.
