<br />BUDGET NARRATIVE <br /> <br />Schedule A-I <br /> <br />PERS~NNEL (continued) <br /> <br />Direct Salaries: The annual salary for each position was determined by <br />applying the current City of San Marcos schedule and allowing for a <br />projected 3% cost-of-living adjustment. Also included are projected <br />merit salary increases consistent with present City of San Marcos policy <br />for all employees. Position A will be a trained investigator with <br />investigation and supervisory experience. Position B will be an <br />experienced street officer. <br /> <br />Job Descriptions: <br /> <br />Dangerous Drug Control Unit <br /> <br />1. To combat and deter the sale of hard drugs, sizable quantities of <br />marijuana, and other controlled substances within the jurisdictional <br />boundaries of the officers assigned to the Unit. <br /> <br />2. To detect, identify, and arrest drug offenders. <br /> <br />3. To conduct covert narcotics investigations which result in lawful <br />arrests and successful prosecutions. <br /> <br />4. To cultivate and utilize informants to infiltrate drug operations to <br />obtain evidence of illegal drug trafficking. <br /> <br />5. To maintain statistical records and prepare necessary reports <br />documenting the effectiveness of the officers assigned to the Unit. <br /> <br />CJD-lOa <br />
