69 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN l1ARCOS, TEXAS, OCTOBER 22, 1984 PRESENT: Mayor Emmie Craddock Council Members Karl W. Brown Bill Coddington Gerald G. Farr Fred Guerra Betty Jane Kissler Jaime Moore City Manager A. C. Gonzalez City Secretary Janis K. Womack Director of Public Works George Boeker Director of Planning Frank Robbins Acting Director of Finance Wayne Moore Also Present: Gregg Echols, Mark Hendricks, Lee Swift, Bill Plummer, Jack Cates, Joe Froh, Lucky Tomblin, Ross King, Sandy Schroeder, Terry Colley, Mary Compton, Richard Hernandez, John Grayson, Jack Lindstrom, Anita Reyes, Joe Cox, Lupe Picassio, Vince VandeWalle, Dan Nelson, Shirley Wickersham, Augustin Lucio, Jeffrey Kester, Charles Chapman, Betty Stansbury and others. Mayor Craddock called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting held October 8, 1984. Mr. Guerra moved for approval and Mr. Brown seconded the motion. Mr. Coddington asked the minutes be corrected on Page 5 in the fifth paragraph (last sen- tence) to read "Council directed Staff to place the matter on a future agenda if the difficulties were not worked out." The minutes were then approved unanimously by the Council. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Special Meeting held October IS, 1984. Mr. Farr moved for ap- proval and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. On roll call the follow- ing vote was recorded: AYE: Coddington, Farr, Craddock, Guerra, Kissler. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Brown, Moore. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Zoning Commission. Mr. Guerra moved to appoint Lala Garcia and Mr. Coddington seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Library Board. Ms. Kissler moved to appoint Dawn Logan and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of one appoint- ment to the Historic Preservation Commission to fill the vacancy of Gwen Smith as a person in the community interested in the history of San Marcos. A name the Mayor had submitted earlier was withdrawn, so the Council directed this matter be placed on a future agenda. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Commission for Women to complete the vacancy of Betty Wolverton. No names were submitted, and the Mayor and Council by consensus reached the decision to allow the number of 15 members on this Commission to reduce in number by attrition.
