<br />72 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1987-20R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'rHE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING <br />JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN THE <br />GENERAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO BE HELD ON <br />APRIL 4, 1987 AND CHARGING EACH SUCH JUDGE <br />WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD SAID ELECTION IN HIS/HER <br />RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACE FOR EACH RESPECTIVE <br />PRECINCT, APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE <br />CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A TABULATION <br />SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, <br />AND A CENTRAL COUNTING S'rATION MANAGER, <br />APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY SAID TABULATION <br />SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS, AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 12, 1987, the City Council of the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a joint <br />general election by said City and the San Marcos Consolidated <br />Independent School District on April 4, 1987, establishing the rate of <br />compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the <br />tabulation supervisor for services rendered during said election, <br />making provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions <br />incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 4 of said ordinance provides that the City <br />Council of said City, on or before March 20, 1987, shall, by resolution <br />duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in said <br />election at the polling places for the respective precincts set forth <br />in Section 3 thereof, and said ordinance further ordains that it shall <br />be each such judge I s duty to hold the election in said precincts and <br />that any vacancies occurring after the appointment of said judges may <br />be filled by subsequent resolution(s) of said City Council; and, <br /> <br />vVHEREAS, Section 13 of said ordinance <br />Council of said City shall, by resolution <br />Presiding Judge of the Central Counting <br />Supervisor of said Central Counting Station, <br />Station Manager; now, therefore, <br /> <br />provides that the City <br />duly adopted, appoint a <br />Station, a Tabulation <br />and a Central Counting <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1.
