Mayor Craddock moved to award <br /> bid to Red Simon Ford for $8,993.00 and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. <br /> On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> AYE: Brown, Farr, Craddock, Guerra, Kissler. <br /> NAY: Coddington, Moore. <br /> ABSTAIN: None. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of award of bid <br /> for one pickup truck for the Animal Control Department. Mr. Farr moved <br /> for award of bid to Henna Chevrolet in the amount of $7,024.00 and Mayor <br /> Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of award of bid <br /> for two pickup trucks for the Planning and Inspection Department. Ms. <br /> Kissler moved to award bid to Capitol Chevrolet in the amount of <br /> $8,137.81 (x 2) and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unani- <br /> mously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of award of bid <br /> for four pickup trucks for the Public Works Department. Mr. George <br /> Boeker stated they were amending their recommendation of award of bid <br /> to delete the pickup truck for Department 79 (Capitol Chevrolet - <br /> $7,891. 81). Mayor Craddock moved to award bid for one pickup truck <br /> for Department 76 to Capitol Chevrolet in the amount of $7,891.81, <br /> for Department 77 to Capitol Chevrolet in the amount of $8,137.81 <br /> and Department 67 to Henna Chevrolet in the amount of $7,024.00. Mr. <br /> Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of award of bid <br /> for three police motorcycles and direction for budget amendment, or <br /> in the alternative, consider rejection of bids and authorization to <br /> rebid. Mr. Hankins clarified for the record that Council had not been <br /> contacted regarding the bidding of these motorcycles. Mr. Moore felt <br /> the size of the motorcycles was too large and stated Austin Police Dept. <br /> had a lot of accidents riding motorcycles. Chief Galchutt stated the <br /> purchase of motorcycles had been approved in the budget process and what <br /> was at issue was the kind of bikes, not whether or not to have bikes. <br /> Mr. Moore stated the Traffic Patrol Officers lacked riding experience <br /> and it would affect the workmen's compensation rate of the City. Mr. <br />
