<br />City of San Marcos/Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority <br />Water Treatment Facilities <br /> <br />Service Contract <br />Article VI - Management and Operation <br /> <br />SECTION 6.2. AUTHORITY OBLIGATIONS GENERALLY. (A) Management <br />Responsibility. Commencing on the Commencement Date, the Authority shall operate and <br />manage the Facilities on a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week basis, and shall treat and deliver <br />Finished Water to the System, provide all information necessary to secure Governmental <br />Approvals, and otherwise manage and operate the Facilities so as to comply with the Contract <br />Standards applicable to such activities, each of the plans pertaining thereto set forth in the <br />Appendices, and the other terms and conditions of this Service Contract. <br />(B) Transfer and Application of Industry Experience. The Authority shall use <br />reasonable efforts to transfer to and apply at the Facilities the benefit of the advances and <br />improvements in technology, management practices and operating efficiencies which are <br />developed by the Authority through the operation of their water treatment and distribution <br />businesses and industry research and development activities conducted over the full Term of <br />this Service Contract, and which are useful and appropriate in the good faith judgment of the <br />Authority for carrying out the Contract Services in a manner which improves upon the <br />Contract Standards. <br /> <br />SECTION 6.3. CITY OBLIGATIONS GENERALLY. The City, in addition to the <br />obligations it has accepted elsewhere in this Service Contract, shall: <br />(1) Make available to the Authority upon request information relating to the <br />Facilities which is in the possession of the City and material to the Authority's <br />performance hereunder; <br />(2) Grant and assure the Authority access to the Facilities for the <br />performance of its obligations hereunder, but for no other purpose; <br />(3) Make available for the Authority's use hereunder all Consumables and <br />spare parts in inventory at the Facilities as of the Commencement Date; <br />(4) Maintain and repair in good working order all System assets which are <br />not included in the Facilities which the Authority is obligated to maintain; <br />(5) Obtain and maintain all Govemmental Approvals that are the <br />responsibility of the Authority hereunder; <br />(6) Pay the Service Fee and any other amounts due the Authority III <br />accordance with the terms and conditions of this Service Contract; <br />(7) Provide billing and revenue collection services with respect to the use of <br />the System; and <br />(8) On a periodic basis to be determined by the parties, direct the Authority <br />as to the amount of raw water from each water source that is to be utilized. <br /> <br />SECTION 6.4. FACILITIES CONDITION CONFIRMATION. (A) Familiarity <br />with Facilities.
