<br />124. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005- 1 46 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO <br />SERVE IN A GENERAL AND SPECIAL BOND ELECTION TO BE HELD ON <br />NOVEMBER 8, 2005; CHARGING THE JUDGES WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD <br />THIS ELECTION IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACES FOR EACH <br />PRECINCT; APPOINTING AN EARLY VOTING BALLOT BOARD; <br />APPOINTING A PRESIDING mDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br />STATION, A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br />STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER; APPROVING <br />THE APPOINTMENT BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL <br />COUNTING STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS; APPROVING THE <br />APPOINTMENT BY THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN <br />ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE EARLY VOTING <br />CLERK OF CERTAIN DEPUTY EARLY VOTING CLERKS; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. On August 16,2005, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted two <br />ordinances, one ordering the holding of a general election (the "General Election Ordinance") and <br />the other ordering the holding of a special bond election, to be held on November 8, 2005. <br /> <br />2. Section 3 of the General Election Ordinance provides that the City Council of the <br />City shall by resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in the election <br />at the polling places for the respective precincts set forth in Section 5 thereof, and the General <br />Election Ordinance further ordains that it shall be each judge's duty to hold the election in the <br />precincts and that any vacancies occurring after the appointment of the judges may be filled by <br />subsequent resolution(s) of the City Council. <br /> <br />3. Section 11 of the General Election Ordinance provides that the City Council of the <br />City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint the Early Voting Ballot Board, a Presiding Judge of <br />the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of the Central Counting Station, and a Central <br />Counting Station Manager. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />P ART 1. The persons set forth below are appointed as presiding judges and alternate <br />judges, to serve in the City's general and special bond election on November 8, 2005, at theirrespective polling places for the precincts set forth below: <br />
