63 Regular Meeting January 27, 1986 Page 8 Consider approval of Ordinances on second reading: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; REPEALING SECTION 27-1 OF CHAPTER 27 ENTITLED, "TAXICABS" AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 27-1 OF SAID CHAPTER OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; TO EXEMPT LIMOUSINES FROM THE PROVISIONS OF THAT CEAPTER AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 21, ENTITLED "PUBLIC SAFETY", OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING SECTION 12-37 MAKING IT UNLAWPUL TO INTERFERE ~nTH A POLICE OPFICER OR FIREFIGhTER AND ESTABLISHING AN EF- FECTIVE DATE. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29, ARTICLE V, SECTION 29-122 OF THE SAN MARCOS CObE OF ORDINANCES TO ADb STOP SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF HUTCHISON AND EDWARD GARY AND PUBLIC WORKS ACCESS ROAD AND HOPKINS STREET; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Consider approval of Ordinance on second reading (.Hr. Brown abstaining): AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, EXTENDING THAT FRANCHISE AGREEMENT OF FEBRUARY 20, 1951 BETWEEN SAID CITY AND THE SAN MAR- COS TELEPHONE COMPANY FOR A PERIOD OF SIX (6) MONThS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Guerra introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A PROPOSED AGREEMENT BETWEEN SOUTH- WEST TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY AND SAID CITY FOR THE PREPARATION FOR SAID CITY OF DIGITIZED DATA BASE MAPS¡ AuThORIZING THE CI'l'Y J:vlANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Coddington seconded the motion. Mr. Nicola moved to amend the Resolution on Page 2, Section III.B. "The City shall pay to the University no more than One Thousand Dollars and No/IOO ($1,000.00) when the City has de- livered to the University aerial photographs described in Section I. This sum shall be allocated for the costs of materials for the City's initial order of maps and overlaps in accordance with this Agreement. The next sentence is deleted in its entirety. If the costs of mater- ials are less than $1,000.00, the University shall apply the differ- ence toward the costs of materials for future orders by the City." Mr. Brown seconded the motion,which passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. Mr. Guerra introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows:
