I

CENTERPOINT ENERGY
SOUTH ~ DIVISION
RATE SHEET
GENERAL SERVICE-LARGE VOLUME
RAn SCHEDULE NO. GSLV-598-A

MEASUREMENT

The term "cubic foot of gaa" for the pwpose of measurement of the gaa delivCTed rmd for aU olber pmposcs is the
amount of gas necessary to fill a cubic foot of space when the gas is at an absolute prelBUnl of 14.65 pouDd8 per
square inch and at a bue temperature of sixty (60) degrw FahreDhciL

The term "Met" shall mean 1,000 cubic feet of gaa.

The SalCll Unit sball be one Mct

Assumed Atmospheric Pressure - The average atmospheric preasure shall be IIBIUJDCd to be fourtec:D and .even-
tenths (14.7) pounds per aqlWll inch, Ureapective of actual elevation or location of the point of deliveIy above sea
level or variation in IUCh atmoaphcrie preuurc from time to time.

Orifice Meters - When orifice meters ue used for the mcasumncnt of gas, such orifice mcterIlbaU be CODItrul;tcd
and installed, and the COJJlputations of volume made, in accordance with the provisions of Gas Meuuremcm
Committee Report No. 3 of the American 011 Association as revised September, 1969 (" A.a .A. Report No.3), with
any subsequent amendments or revisions which may be mutually acceptable.

The temperature of the gas shall be determined by a recording thermometer so UiBtaned that it may record the
temperalllre of the gas flowing through the meter or meters. The. average of the record to the nearest one (1) degRC
PahrcDheit, obtained while gas is being delivered, shall be the applicable flowing ps temperature for tbe period
under conaideration.

I

The specific gravity of the gas sball be det:ennined by a recording gravitoD1Cter owned and openltcd by the pipeline
company from whom Company purchases ita gu, 10 installed 1hat it may record the specific gravity of the gas
flowing through the meter or metm; provided, however, that the rClulla of spot tests made by the pipeline company
with a stmdard type specific gravity illS~nt shall be UlCd at locations where the pipeline company does DOt have
a recording gravitometer in aarvice. If the recording gravitometer is used;' the average of the record to the nearest
one-thousandth (0.001), obtained while gas is being delivered, shall be the applicable specific gravity oftbe gas for
the period under consideration. If the spot test method is usod, the specific gravity of the gas delivered hereunder
ahall be detenniDcd ona monthly, the result obtained, to the nemst one-thousandth (0.001), to be applicable during
tlie 11KCceding billiDg month.

Adjustmmt for the effect of supercomprcslibility shal1 be made according to the provilloDS of A.G.A. Report No.3,
hereinabove idcnl:ified, for the average conditions ofprelsurc, Bowing temperature and specific gravity at which the
gas was measured during the period under consideration, and with the proportioDlte value of each carbon dioxide
rmd nitrogen in the gas delivered included in the computation of the applicable supercomprcuibility factorll.
Company shall obtain appropriate cuban dioxide and nitrogen fraction valucs as may be required from time to time.

Positive Displacement Meters and Turbine MetCll - Wben positive displacement meters and/or turbine materB are
uacd for the ~Cl1ICDt of gas, the Bowing temperature of Ihe gll metered shall be ~ to be sixty (60)
degrees Fahrenheit, and no correction abaIl be made for any variation therefrom; provided however, 1hat colq)lDY
shall have the option of inatalling a recording thermometer, and if company exercises such option, corrections shall
be made for each degree variation in the applicable flowiDg tamperature far the period under consideration.

I

Exhibit A
PIge 4 oft 3
