Hopkins St. <br />San Marcos, TX 78666 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. O'Leary: <br /> <br />We, at First Baptist Church, were fortunate enough in June of 2000 to be able to purchase <br />a 117 acre tract of land at the comer of McCarty Lane and Hunter Road. With God's <br />many blessings (land sales, other asset sales, and the generous givings of our church <br />members), we have paid off the remaining 76 acre tract, hired an architect and have a <br />final set of construction plans for the First Phase multi-purposed building, associated <br />parking and utilities. The building is approximately 50,000 square feet and the parking <br />lot is planned for 250 spaces. <br /> <br />In August, 2004 we were again fortunate to sell our old campus on Hutchison Street to a <br />developer that is going to be able to use much of our old sanctuary. Since this sale, First <br />Baptist Church has had the privilege of meeting at San Marcos Baptist Academy for <br />worship. However, the Church is quite ready to start construction of our new facilities. <br /> <br />We hereby ask for the approval of an out-of-City Utility Request. We hereby request <br />annexation as conditioned by said request. <br /> <br />Sewer service is already available at the comer of our property and Hunter Road. <br /> <br />We understand that the City is planning the construction of a 16" waterline in the its CIP <br />Program that extends from Hunter Road down McCarty Lane and Great Oaks Dr. to the <br />City's water storage tank. <br /> <br />We hereby ask for a Capital Improvement Agreement to facilitate the design and <br />construction of this water Capital Improvement Project. In order to speed up the <br />timetable of the construction to meet our needs for our building, we will pay for all <br />Engineering costs for the design of the waterline so that construction can start in early <br />fall.
