"'......... r~~...._ C_J~-' .I';:;:: ORDINANCE NO. 2006- 37 ~,~- ,.. ~~ ~..:~( ~_... r:::.i';' - l.,~l-;""- -;"V' ~'~:='./ ,I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE ORDINANCE ADOPTED ON AUGUST 15, 2006 ORDERING A GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 7, 2006, TO COMBINE THE POLLING PLACES FOR PRECINCTS 120 AND 121; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. CJ . L_, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 4 and Section 7 of the Ordinance adopted on August 15, 2006 ordering a general and special election to be held by the City of San Marcos on November 7, 2006 are amended to combine the polling places for Precincts 120 and 121, and to designate the San Marcos Housing Authority Resident's Office, located at 820 Sturgeon Street (Comer of Sturgeon Street and Bliss Street), as the polling place for both of these precincts. SECTION 2. The importance of this Ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity, and the provisions of the Charter requiring that ordinances be presented at three separate meetings and that ordinances do not take effect until ten days after the date of final adoption are suspended, and this Ordinance will take effect upon publication of notice of its adoption in a newspaper of general circulation within the City.
