<br />, <br /> <br />411 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Chapter 1 Development Procedures - Article 9 Construction Permits <br /> <br />(22) Change in the sign copy on an eXlstmg sign or the replacement of a <br />nonstructural panel or sign face within a fixed frame, provided that the change <br />does not create an off-premise sign from a sign previously classified as <br />. . <br />on-premIse, or VIce versa; <br /> <br />(23) Painting, repainting, cleaning or other normal maintenance and repair of a <br />sign not involving restructuring or a structural alteration; and <br /> <br />(24) Political signs less than 36 square feet in size and less than 8 feet in height. <br /> <br />(d) Effect. Approval of a sign permit authorizes the placement, construction, repair or <br />other activity authorized by the permit in accordance with its terms. <br /> <br />Section 1.9.5.2 <br /> <br />Application Requirements <br /> <br />(a) Responsible Official. The Planning Director is the responsible official for a sign <br />permit. <br /> <br />(b) Contents. An application for a sign permit shall be prepared in accordance with <br />Chapter 1 of the Technical Manual. <br /> <br />Section 1.9.5.3 <br /> <br />Decision <br /> <br />(a) Decision. The Director shall either approve, conditionally approve or deny the <br />application for a sign permit. If a variance petition has been submitted to the Zoning <br />Board of Adjustments and Appeals, the Director shall suspend the Director's decision <br />until after the petition is decided. <br /> <br />(b) Time for Decision. The Director shall make a decision on the permit within five (5) <br />working days after the official filing date, or, if a variance petition is pending, within <br />five (5) working days of the date the Director is notified of the Zoning Board of <br />Adjustments' decision on the petition. <br /> <br />(c) Amendments. After the approval of a sign permit, an applicant shall not be required <br />to submit an amended application, if proposed amendments do not involve changes to <br />the location, sign type, electrification or increase in size or height of the sign. <br /> <br />Section 1.9.5.4 <br /> <br />Appeal and Relief Procedures <br /> <br />(a) Appeal. The applicant and any interested person may appeal the Planning Director's <br />decision on a sign permit to the Zoning Board of Adjustments in accordance with <br />Article 10, Division I of this Chapter I.
