<br />Chapter 4 Zoning Regulations - Article 1, General Provisions <br /> <br />(b) Maintenance of Official Map. The official Zoning Map shall be maintained in the <br />office of the Planning Director. The map shall be used for reference and shall be <br />maintained up-to-date by incorporating all subsequent amendments enacted by <br />official action of the City Council. The Planning Director will use all reasonable <br />means to protect the official Zoning Map from damage, and to ensure the accurate <br />restoration of the map file if damage or destruction of the original file occurs. <br /> <br />(c) Changes or Amendments Reflected on the Map. Any changes or amendments made <br />to the zoning district boundaries shall be incorporated into the Zoning Map file <br />promptly after the amendment has been approved by the City Council. The Planning <br />Director shall maintain a descriptive log of amendments to the map using the <br />following format: "On the _ day of , _, by official action of the <br />City Council of San Marcos, Texas, the following change(s) was made on the City's <br />official Zoning Map: (enter a brief description of <br />the nature of the change), Ordinance No. , effective date , <br />_". Each descriptive entry for an amendment to the official map shall be signed <br />by the Planning Director. The Planning Director will use all reasonable means to <br />ensure that no changes are made to the official Zoning Map without authorization by <br />official action of the City Council. <br /> <br />(d) Replacement of the Official Zoning District Map. In the event that the official Zoning <br />Map file becomes damaged, destroyed, lost or difficult to interpret for any reason, the <br />City Council may adopt, by ordinance following a public hearing, a new official <br />Zoning Map which shall replace and supersede the prior Zoning Map, but which shall <br />not, in effect, amend or otherwise change the original official Zoning Map or any <br />subsequent amendment thereto. <br /> <br />Section 4.1.2.3 <br /> <br />Zoning District Boundaries <br /> <br />(a) Rules of Interpretation. The zoning district boundary lines shown on the Zoning Map <br />are usually along streets, alleys, property lines, or extensions thereof. Where <br />uncertainty exists as to the boundaries of districts as shown on the Zoning Map, the <br />following rules shall apply: <br /> <br />(1) Boundaries shown as approximately following the centerlines of streets, <br />highways or alleys shall be construed to follow the centerlines. <br /> <br />(2) Boundaries shown as approximately following platted lot lines shall be <br />construed as following the lot lines. <br /> <br />(3) Boundaries shown as approximately following City limits shall be construed <br />as following the City limits. <br /> <br />(4) Boundaries shown as following railroad lines shall be construed to be located <br />along the centerline of the railroad right-of-way lines. <br /> <br />City of San Marcos, Texas <br /> <br />4-2 <br /> <br />Land Development Code - Final <br /> <br />It <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />'- <br />
