50 ORDINANCE 1986-2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 1972-7 ADOPTED MARCH 13, 1972, AND AMENDED FEBRUARY 11, 1980, AND I""~ NOVEMBER 14, 1985, WHICH ESTABLISHED AND ,....,; REGULATED VARIOUS FEES AND CHARGES FOR CABLE TELEVISION SERVICE WITHIN SAID CITY, BY RAISING THE MONTHLY FEE FOR BASIC SERVICE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the subscriber costs charged by satellite delivered services will increase from $.40 to $1 on January 1, 1986; and WHEREAS, Karnack Cable Television has had only two rate increases since 1972; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance 1972-7 of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted March 13, 1972 and amended February 11, 1980 and November 14, 1985, is hereby amended to read as follows: . .. Charges for television cable service for service within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas, shall be according to the following schedule: Residential 1st 1st Addn. Rates ' Outlet Outlet Other . Monthly Service $ 9.00 $ 1.50 $ 1.00 Charge Installation $ 9.95 $ 5.00 (a) Charges Motels, Nursing Homes: Monthly Service $ 7.50 $ 1.25 $ 1.25 Charge Installation (a) Charges (a) A charge shall be made for time and materials used in installation. The charge shall be computed on the basis of actual cost to the supplier of the service. SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its final passage, and it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas.
