<br /> 72 <br /> ORDINANCE 1986-5 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE AJX)PTED ON <br /> OCTOBER 28, 1985 WHICH DECLARED A MORATORIUM UNTI L <br /> DECEl-1BER 31, 1985, AND WAS LATER AMENDED TO EXTEND THE <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE THROUGH J ANDRY 31, 1986, ON THE <br /> mNS'IRUCTION OF AND BUIIDING PERMITS FOR OFF-PREMISE <br /> 0 U'IDOO R ADVERTI SING SIGNS ANYWHERE WITHIN THE <br /> JURISDICTION OF SAID CITY AND WHICH PROVIDED FOR <br /> VARIANCES, TO EXTEND SAID MORATORIUM AND ALL THE <br /> PROVISIONS OF SAID ORDINANCE THROUGH FEBRUARY 28, 1986¡ <br /> AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> SECTION 1. That that ordinance adopted by the City of San Marcos, <br /> Texas, on October 28,1985 which declared a moratorium until Lecember <br /> 31, 1985, and was later amended to extend the effective date through <br /> January 31,1986, on the construction of and building perIni ts for <br /> off-premise outdoor advertising signs anywhere within the jurisdiction <br /> of said City and which provided for variances, is hereby amended to <br /> extend said moratorium and all the provisions of said ordinance <br /> through February 28,1986. <br /> SECTION 2. That the importance of this Ordinance creates an <br /> emergency and an imperative public necessity so that the provisions of <br /> the Charter requiring that ordinances shall be presented at three <br /> separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become effective until <br /> the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its final passage <br /> be suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and this <br /> Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and <br /> after its adoption and after its publication in a newspaper of general <br /> circulation within the City as provided by the City Charter of the City <br /> of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 27 day of January, 1986. <br /> ~) C~~ <br /> Fred.
