Storage of salvageable materials and salvage equipment on the project area will be permitted only for the duration of the Contract, and such storage shall at no time interfere with the activities of the City of San Marcos or other contractors. 10. EQUAL EMPIDYMENT OPFOR'IUNITY a. The Contractor shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin or physical handicap. The Contactor shall take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, national origin or physical handicap. Such action shall include, but not be limited to the following: employmen t, upgrading, deIrotion, or transfer; recruibœnt or recruibœnt advertising; layoff or termination; rates of payor other forms of cornpensti n; and selection for training, including apprenticeship. b. The Contractor shall, in all solicitations or advertisbœnts for employees placed by or on behalf of the Contractor, state that all qualifi d applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin or physical handicap. c. The Contractor shall cause the foregoing provisions to be inserted in all subcontracts for any work covered by this contract so that such provisions will be binding upon such subcontractor. 11. INSPECTION BY CITY OF SAN MARCOS The Ci ty of San ]\'1arcos shall have the right to inspect the work at all times and at the completion thereof. 12. TIME FOR COMPLETION The work which the Contractor is required to perform under this Contract shall be commenced within 7 days after the execution of this Contact and shall be fully completed within 5 consecutive calendar days following such commencement. 13. SPECIAL PROVISIONS a. Should the Contractor fail to complete this Contract on time according to the provisions of paragraph 12, the City shall have the option of: (l) notifyng the Contractor that the Contract period will be extended, but that the sum of $200 per day of delay will be deducted fran the contract arrount as liquidated damages resulting from Contractor I s failure to complete work on schedule; or (2) terminating the Contract by notice in writing, at which time the Contractor shall furnish the City a complete list of all work perfonœd under the Contact and a claim for payment for that work for which he has not been compensated. Any part of a day shall be counted as a full day.
