<br /> -4- <br /> c. Storage of salvageable materials and salvage equipment on the <br /> project area will be permitted only for the duration of the Contract, <br /> and such storage shall at no time interfere with the activities of the <br /> City of San Marcos or other contractors. <br /> 10. EQUAL EMPIDYMENT OPFOR'IUNITY <br /> a. The Contractor shall not discriminate against any employee or <br /> applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, or <br /> national origin or physical handicap. The Contactor shall take <br /> affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that <br /> employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, <br /> color, religion, sex, national origin or physical handicap. Such <br /> action shall include, but not be limited to the following: employmen t, <br /> upgrading, deIrotion, or transfer; recruibœnt or recruibœnt <br /> advertising; layoff or termination; rates of payor other forms of <br /> cornpensti n; and selection for training, including apprenticeship. <br /> b. The Contractor shall, in all solicitations or advertisbœnts <br /> for employees placed by or on behalf of the Contractor, state that all <br /> qualifi d applicants will receive consideration for employment without <br /> regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin or physical <br /> handicap. <br /> c. The Contractor shall cause the foregoing provisions to be <br /> inserted in all subcontracts for any work covered by this contract so <br /> that such provisions will be binding upon such subcontractor. <br /> 11. INSPECTION BY CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> The Ci ty of San ]\'1arcos shall have the right to inspect the work at <br /> all times and at the completion thereof. <br /> 12. TIME FOR COMPLETION <br /> The work which the Contractor is required to perform under this <br /> Contract shall be commenced within 7 days after the execution of this <br /> Contact and shall be fully completed within 5 consecutive calendar days <br /> following such commencement. <br /> 13. SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> a. Should the Contractor fail to complete this Contract on time <br /> according to the provisions of paragraph 12, the City shall have the <br /> option of: (l) notifyng the Contractor that the Contract period will <br /> be extended, but that the sum of $200 per day of delay will be <br /> deducted fran the contract arrount as liquidated damages <br /> resulting from Contractor I s failure to complete work on schedule; or <br /> (2) terminating the Contract by notice in writing, at which time the <br /> Contractor shall furnish the City a complete list of all work perfonœd <br /> under the Contact and a claim for payment for that work for which he <br /> has not been compensated. Any part of a day shall be counted as a full <br /> day. <br />
