55 ORDINANCE 1986-3~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 5-49, BASIS FOR ESTABISHING THE AREAS OF SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD, OF ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 5 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO ADOPT THAT REPORT IDENTIFYING AREAS OF SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD WHICH IS ENTITLED "THE FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY FOR THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS," DATED SEPTEMBER 1, 1983: AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECT I ON 1. That Section 5-49 of Article III of Chapter 5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 5-49. Basis for establishing the areas of special flood hazard. The areas of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Insurance Administration in a scientific and engineering report entitled "The Flood Insurance Study for the City of San Marcos, Texas", dated September 1, 1983 with accompanying flood insurance rate maps and flood boundary--floodway maps are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this article. The flood insurance study is on file in the office of the city secretary of the City of San Marcos, Texas, 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas. SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten (10) days from and after its passage, and it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas.
