Boeker, Director of Public wor~ <br /> <br /> <br />SU~ECT: POST ROAD IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: Apri I 9, 1986 RE: <br /> <br /> <br />Attached are five proposals for the improvement of Post Road <br />which were discussed at the March 10, 1986 Council meeting. <br />Proposals 1 thru 4 utilize the 24-foot overlay paving which was <br />presented at the previous meeting with various options while <br />Proposal No.5 includes 4700 feet of the 24-foot paving and 1600 <br />feet of 44-foot paving, R.O.W. costs and all options. <br /> <br />It is the recommendation of Public Works that we proceed with the <br />24-foot paving, whether it be the full 6300 feet or 4700 feet, <br />plus the sidewalks (if Council elects to add this option) as one <br />project and include any additional options in a separate bid. <br />The reason for this approach and/or recommendation is simply a <br />matter of timing. To add any of the options, excluding <br />sidewalks would cause delays in starting and completing the <br />project. <br /> <br />Additional overlay projects that were discussed at the previously <br />mentioned Council meeting will be presented for consideration at <br />the April 2B, 19B6 Council meeting. <br /> <br />GWB:mc <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />cc: A.
