;;; HALFF
Page 18
Laboratory (TARL) during the preliminary design phase to identify recorded archeological
sites within and in the vicinity of the project corridor, as well as identified Federal and State
recorded historic properties such as NRHP sites, State Archeological Landmarks (SAL), and
Official Texas Historic Markers will be incorporated into the PCR. This information will be
digitized and overlaid onto the most recent available U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)
topographic map(s). Additionally, a review of available information, such as soil survey
maps and USGS geological maps, will be conducted to assess the general site conditions and
probability of cultural resources within the project area. Information gathered during the
cultural resources background study will be sufficient to initiate consultation as necessary
with the Texas Historical Commission (THC).
• Public Parks and Recreation Areas - Potential impacts to publicly owned parks, recreational
areas, and wildlife refuges that would require additional analysis and public involvement in
accordance with Chapter 26 of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Code are not anticipated.
• Section 6(f) Sites - Section 6(f) resources (i.e., lands and/or facilities acquired or developed
for public recreation using Land and Water Conservation Fund grants) in the project area will
be identified, described, and mapped.
• Hazardous Materials - A report of State and Federal databases regarding hazardous /regulated
materials will be obtained for review to establish whether there are potential hazardous
material concerns that would affect the proposed project. A Hazardous Materials Initial Site
Assessment will be performed in accordance with TxDOT SOUs.
• Indirect and cumulative effects — An indirect and cumulative effects analysis is not
anticipated to be required for this project.
2.7 TxDOT Coordination
Halff will submit the draft environmental document to TxDOT for review. This task includes
addressing TxDOT comments through two rounds of agency review.
Deliverables
• Draft environmental document in Adobe Acrobat format, and up to six (6) hard copies upon
request, for review by the City of San Marcos and the TxDOT Austin District. Comments
received will be addressed and the document will be re- submitted for review and approval.
• Final environmental document to the City of San Marcos and TxDOT. The number of copies of
the final document is to be determined as requested by the City of San Marcos and TxDOT (not
to exceed 15 hard copies). An electronic version of the final environmental document will also
be provided in Adobe Acrobat format. The schedule for final project completion will be
dependent upon the government agency review and public comment process.
Old RR 12—Design—Option 1
