<br /> 101 <br /> RESOLUTION 1986-66R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE SUBMISSION <br /> OF A TEXAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM GRANT <br /> APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY <br /> AFFAIRS FOR THE AREA REVITALIZATION FUND: AUTH- <br /> ORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACT AS THE CITY'S EXECUTIVE <br /> OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL <br /> MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION <br /> IN THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, AND DE- <br /> CLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos desires to <br /> develop a viable urban community, including decent housing and ex- <br /> panding economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate in- <br /> come; and <br /> WHEREAS, certain conditions exist which represent a threat to public <br /> health and safety: and <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interests of the City of <br /> San Marcos to avail itself of the 1986 Texas Community Development <br /> Program: now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That a Texas Community Development Program application <br /> for local community development is hereby authorized to be filed on be- <br /> half of the City with the Texas Department of Community Affairs. <br /> PART 2. That said City's application be placed in competition for <br /> funding under the Area Revitalization Fund. <br /> PART 3. That the application be for $150,000.00 in grant funds in <br /> order to carry out housing rehabitalization in the Dunbar Neighborhood of <br /> said City. <br /> PART 4. That the City of San Marcos is committing $150,000.00 from <br /> its General Fund as a cash contribution towards completion of the project <br /> activities detailed in the application. <br /> PART 5. That the City Council directs and designates its Mayor, J. <br /> E. Younger, as the City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized Represen- <br /> tative to act in all matters in connection with this application and the <br /> City of San Marcos' participation in the Texas Community Development Pro- <br /> gram. <br /> PART 6.
