<br /> Prior to establishing the company, Dr. Butler served as an independent <br /> planning consultant for eight years. In this capacity, he worked for <br /> nineteen city and county governments, four state and federal agencies, <br /> and seven private clients. Dr. Butler also is employed as Associate <br /> Professor of Community and Regional Planning at the School of Archi- <br /> tecture, The University of Texas at Austin. He teaches graduate courses <br /> and conducts research in urban and environmental planning. In that <br /> capacity he has served as principal investigator on nine research grants <br /> and contracts and has authored more than liD professional articles and <br /> reports. <br /> C. BYRN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. <br /> 1. The Com pany <br /> <br /> Byrn and Associates, Inc. was established in 1973. The firm offers a <br /> wide range of services in the civil engineering and land surveying fields. <br /> These services are offered to both the public sector and the private <br /> sector. There are 40 persons in the San Marcos office to serve the area <br /> needs for engineering and surveying. <br /> Specific areas of services offered by Byrn and Associates, Inc. include <br /> design of water systems, wastewater systems, drainage facilities, <br /> streets, detention systems, flood studies, land planning, feasibility <br /> studies, land surveying, and other services associated with land develop- <br /> ment and municipal capital improvement programs. <br /> Through joint ventures and other business relationships, Byrn and Asso- <br /> ciates, Inc. offers not only the above mentioned services but also <br /> structural, mechanical, environmental, hydrogeological, and other spe- <br /> cialized services when they relate to a specific engineering project. <br /> JONES 8< NEUSE <br /> <br /> 15 <br />
