64 Special Meeting June 3, 1986 Page 3 Mr. Brown moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Farr present to vote on this item). Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval to appoint a Spe- cial Judge to preside in Municipal Court proceeding pursuant to an Ordinance adopted by the City Council on April 28, 1986 (Sections 2.73(d) (1) and (2) of Code of Ordinances). Mr. Parr advised the Council he had received a recommendation from Mr. Hernandez for this position, Leon Breeden, and that he had talked with Mr. Breeden and Mr. Breeden is not involved in any work with the City and is willing to serve as the Special Judge. Mayor Younger suggested the Council table consideration until more names could be considered, un- less the Council was comfortable with the consideration of Mr. Breeden. Mr. Farr then moved to appoint Leon Breeden as the Special Judge and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, Farr, Younger, Kissler, Nicola. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Coddington. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration the 1985/1986 compensation adjustments for the Council appointed positions (City Manager, City Attorney, City Secretary, Municipal Court Judge and Associate Munici- pal Court Judge). Mr. Brown moved to table consideration until June 9, 1986 and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, Farr, Younger, Kissler, Nicola. NAY: Coddington. ABSTAIN: None.
