That there is hereby levied and there shall De <br /> col.Lectea from every person, flrm, association or corporation <br /> pursuing any occupation taxed by the general laws of Texas ana <br /> against whom an occupation tax can be .leviea by the City, an <br /> annua.L occupation tax equal in each instance to one-half (1/2) of <br /> the state occupation tax, which tax shall be paid annually ln <br /> advance except as otherwise provided by state law, in which event <br /> such tax shall De levied, collected, and paid as is provided bY <br /> state law, the amount thereof not in any event to exceed one-half <br /> (1/2) of the state occupation tax as aforesaid. <br /> SECTION S. That the Director of Finance of sala City <br /> shal.L keep accurate and complete records of all monies col.Lected <br /> under this Ordinance ana of the purposes for WhlCh same are <br /> expended. <br /> SECTION 6. That monies collected pursuant to this <br /> Ordinance shal.L be expended as set forth in the City of San Marcos <br /> Program ana Budget 1986-1987. <br /> SECTION 7. 'fhat all monles col.Lected which are not <br /> specifically appropriated shall be deposited in the general fund. <br /> SECTION 8. That the importance of this Ordinance creates <br /> an emergency ana an imperative public necessity so that the <br /> provisions of the Charter requLclng that ordinances sha.Llbe <br /> presented at three separate meetings and that no ordinance sha.ll <br /> become effective until the ex.piration of ten (10) days following <br /> the date of its final passage be suspended, and these provisions <br /> are herebY suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be <br /> in full force and effect from and after its adoption and after its <br /> pUb.llcation in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as <br /> required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this the 15 day of <br /> September, 19 86 . /"-'\ <br /> (~ <br /> '-..
