-2- SECTION 4. That there is hereby levied and there shall De col.Lectea from every person, flrm, association or corporation pursuing any occupation taxed by the general laws of Texas ana against whom an occupation tax can be .leviea by the City, an annua.L occupation tax equal in each instance to one-half (1/2) of the state occupation tax, which tax shall be paid annually ln advance except as otherwise provided by state law, in which event such tax shall De levied, collected, and paid as is provided bY state law, the amount thereof not in any event to exceed one-half (1/2) of the state occupation tax as aforesaid. SECTION S. That the Director of Finance of sala City shal.L keep accurate and complete records of all monies col.Lected under this Ordinance ana of the purposes for WhlCh same are expended. SECTION 6. That monies collected pursuant to this Ordinance shal.L be expended as set forth in the City of San Marcos Program ana Budget 1986-1987. SECTION 7. 'fhat all monles col.Lected which are not specifically appropriated shall be deposited in the general fund. SECTION 8. That the importance of this Ordinance creates an emergency ana an imperative public necessity so that the provisions of the Charter requLclng that ordinances sha.Llbe presented at three separate meetings and that no ordinance sha.ll become effective until the ex.piration of ten (10) days following the date of its final passage be suspended, and these provisions are herebY suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and after its pUb.llcation in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas.
