FUELING AND DEFUELING PROCEDURES.. <br /> <br />A. Engine Running. No aircraft shaLL be fuelea <br />or aefueled while the engine 1S runn1ng or <br />being warmea oy application of exterior heat. <br /> <br />B. Electrical Storm. No aircraft shall be fuelea <br />or aefuelea during an eLectrical storm. <br /> <br />c. Smoking. No person shall smoke within 100 <br />feet of an aircraft being fueled or aefuelea. <br /> <br />D. Raaio Operation. No person shall operate a <br />raaio transmitter or electrical systems in an <br />aircraft while it is Deng fuelea or aefueled. <br /> <br />E. Grounding. During fueling and defueling, the <br />alrcraft ana dispensing apparatus shall both <br />be properly grounded. <br /> <br />F. Equipment Status. Fueling hoses and equipment <br />shall be maintained in a safe, operational, <br />and non-leaking condition ana shall De <br />approved DY the NationaL Boara of Fire <br />Underwriters, or equivalent stanaara. <br /> <br />G. Spillage. No persons shall start the eng1ne <br />where there is fuel spillage on the grouna in <br />the vicinity of the aircraft. Persons <br />responsible for splLLage will take proper <br />measures to insure removal of the spillea <br />fuel. <br /> <br />H. Fire Extinguishers. Aaequate fire <br />extlnguishers shall be within reach of aLL <br />persons engagea in fueLing or aefueling <br />operations. AlL extinguishers shalL be <br />inspectea and recertifiea as requirea DY law. <br />All persons engagea in fueling and defueling <br />shall be familiar with the proper use of fire <br />extinguishers. <br /> <br />I. Passengers. No alrcraft shall be fuelea or <br />aefueled While passengers are on ooara the <br />aircraft unless the aircraft aoor(s) is/are in <br />open position. <br /> <br />J. No Aircraft shall De fueled while parkea 1n a <br />closed hangar. <br /> <br />2. CLEANING OF AIRCRAFT. <br /> <br />No person shall use volatile Liquias having a <br />flashpoint of less than 150 aegrees F in the <br />cleaning of an aircraft, aircraft englnes, <br />propellers, parts, or for any other purposes, <br />unless such operations are conducted in the open or <br />in a facility specifically equipped and approved <br />for that purpose.
