<br /> <br />...... <br /> <br />CARTS Delivery Goals and Objectives, FY 1987 <br /> <br />The following is CARTS's goals and objectives for delivery of Transportation <br />Services to transport older persons to and from social services, medical <br />services, meal programs, senior centers, shopping and recreational activities, <br />with provisions for handicapped elderly. <br /> <br />The following figures below are based on annual projections: <br /> <br />1. To provide 110,000 one-way trips. <br />2. To provide 2,100 unduplicated elderly persons. <br /> <br />3. To travel a total of 300,000 miles to provide transportation services. <br /> <br />4. Increase awareness of services provided through CARTS through ads <br />on radio, television, and the print media. <br /> <br />5. To ensure that vehicles used under this contract are well maintained <br />and equipped and replaced with new equipment on a timely basis. <br /> <br />6. Publish, on a regular basis, schedules of service by county. <br /> <br />7. Provide group recreational travel for seniors by chartering over- <br />the-road coaches for each county at least once a year, if funding <br />permits. <br /> <br />8. Establish CARTS Central as the central point for information dissemina- <br />tion on the services offered through the use of a toll-free, in coming <br />line, as funds permit. <br /> <br />9. To promote within the operators network a sense of common purpose by <br />having, on an annual basis, a meeting in which drivers compete for <br />recognition or prizes on a practical driving course. <br /> <br />10. To continue to strive for a minimum level of driver training. <br />in 4 areas: <br /> <br />a. Defensive Driving <br />b. First Aid <br />c. CPR <br />d. Passenger Assistance Techniques <br /> <br />11. To explore the feasibility of fixed route service on a pilot project, <br />in the larger communities in our service area. <br /> <br />12. To adapt to anticipated cuts in federal funding through: <br /> <br />a. Local Governments <br />b. Explore other resources <br />c. Adoption of a Fare Structure <br /> <br />13. Evaluating present service levels for both perceived need & route <br />productivity and establishing criteria for continuation of services in <br />each category, i.e. passenger services, both local and long distance <br />and non-passenger services. <br />
