~ IaIId use

'!be canpatibility of land uses in the vicinity of San Marcos Municipal
Airport is associated with the extent of noise impacts generated by
ai,rcraft ~tions. Figure 8.3 reflects the predicted noise exposure
in the vicinity of the proposed airport for the year 2005. As sOOwn,
there ~T to be no areas or zones of incompatibility with respect
to land use. Zones 2 and 3 lie entirely within existing airport
pt~. Since these ccntours are based on air traffic projected for
the year 2005 and are considered a "worst case" analysis, it must be
assumed that current and future aircraft operations are compatible
with existing and planned land uses.

SoclJll ~1:s

It bas been determined that the airport development program will not
require the relocation of any residences or business, alter surface
transportation patterns., divide or disrupt established oomnn.mi.ties,
disrupt orderly, planned development or create an appreciable change
in eaplayment. 'l11erefore, no adverse social iIrpacts are anticipated.

Twwlr.~ Socio 6 w . - ..Ir! ~'l.

It is projected that San Marcos Municipal Airport will remain a
general aviation airport through the year 2005 and will provide
services and facilities for the San Marcos area.

San Marcos Municipal Airport currently is providing services to a
large number of airport users from this market area. It is projected
that the population utilizing airport facilities will increase
substantially through the year 2005 as the airport develops. This
will result in a positive economic benefit for the businesses
associated with the airport, as well as the indirect benefits derived
by other b1sinesses from the sale of goods, supplies and food.

The proposed airport development program will enhance industrial
growth and help aCCClllDlOdate community needs by providing greater and
safer accessibility to the general aviation transportation system.
'1he:.r:e is no indication that the proposed airport development program
would result in any significant shifts in population movement or
g:r:cwth, public service demands, or changes in business and economic
activity .

B.6
