<br /> 58 <br /> RESOLUTION 1986-113R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF <br /> TWO (2) PROPOSED CONTRACTS BETWEEN SAID CITY AND THE <br /> STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION <br /> FOR THE APPREHENSION OF 55 M.P.H. MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT <br /> OFFENDERS AT SELECTIVE TRAFF I C ENFORCEMENT PROJECT <br /> SITES (STEP) AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A PLANNED STEP <br /> THAT WILL APPLY ADD IT I GNAL LAW ENFORCEMENT EFFORT AT <br /> TIMES AND LOCATI ONS WHERE HIGH INCIDENCES OF <br /> ALCOHOL-RELATED CRASHES OCCUR OR THE POTENTIAL THEREFOR <br /> EXI STS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL OTHER <br /> DOCUMENTS AND I NSTRUI'1ENTS NECESSARY TO THE PURPOSES <br /> THEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Ci ty of San Marcos, Texas, desires to obtain grant <br /> funds for the apprehension of 55 m.p.h. maximum speed 1 imi t offenders <br /> at Select i ve Traff i c Enforcement Project (STEP) s ¡tIS; and, <br /> WHEREAS, said Ci ty des ires to obtain grant funds for the <br /> implementation of a planned STEP that wi 11 apply additional law <br /> enforcement effort at times and locations where high incidences of <br /> alcohol-related crashes occur or the potential therefor exists; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the terms and conditions of two (2) proposed <br /> contracts between said City and the State Department of Highways and <br /> Public Transporht i on for the apprehension of 55 m.p.h. maximum speed <br /> I imit offenders at STEP sites and the implementation of a planned STEP <br /> that will apply additional law enforcement effort at times and <br /> locations where high incidences of alcohol-related crashes occur or the <br /> potential therefor exists, copies of said contracts being attached <br /> hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes as Exhibit "A" and "BU, <br /> respectively, are hereby in all things approved. <br /> PART 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said <br /> contracts and any and all other documents and instruments necessary to <br /> the purposes thereof. <br /> PART 3.
