EXHIBIT A Page 1 of 2 *********** FIELD NOTES *********** A parcel of land containing 0.0543 acre (2,364 square feet) out of the William Pettus Survey, Caldwell County, Texas, and lying wholly within the San Marcos Airport; this parcel is shown on a plat of a survey dated 11 September 1986 by Charles R. Swart, Surveyor, and is more particularly described by metes and bounds in the following paragraphs. The aluminum capped iron monument cited is a 5/8 inch diameter iron bar, 24 inches long, with a 1 7/8 inch diameter aluminum cap marked SAN MARCOS AIRPORT 1986 CHARLES R. SWART SURVEYOR and wi th the point number shown on the plat and cited herein. Bearings are based on the center line bearing of State Highway 21 as shown on the right of way map of the Texas Highway Department dated 27 March 1937, as the center line was found marked on the ground between stations 129 + 53 and 158 + 10. The point ci ted as the West Reference Mark is a 3/8 inch diameter drill hole near the west end of the concrete parking ramp, and 9.5 feet north of the south edge of the ramp. The point cited as the East Reference Mark is a 3/8 inch diameter drill hole in the concrete parking ramp opposite the east legs of the old control tower, and 9.5 feet north of the south edge of the ramp. From the West Reference Mark, the East Reference Mark bears South 89 degrees 58 minutes 34 seconds East a distance of 1505.44 feet. Beginning at the northeast corner of this parcel, which is marked with an aluminum capped iron monument (point 286) on the south edge of a 20.5 foot wide asphalt taxiway, and from which the West Reference Mark (point 50) bears North 69 degrees 45 minutes 48 seconds West a distance of 956.38 feet, the East Reference Mark (point 51) bears North 61 degrees 29 minutes 57 seconds East a distance of 691.96 feet, and the intersection of the center lines of runways 4 and 12 (point 204) bears North 17 degrees 54 minutes 33 seconds East a distance of 3339.35 feet. This point of begin- ning is 320.94 feet south of the south edge of the parking ramp. Thence, from the point of beginning, South 00 degrees 00.1 minute East a distance of 46.32 feet to the southeast corner of this parcel, which is marked with an aluminum capped iron monument (point 289); thence South 89 degrees 54.2 minutes West a distance of 51.00 feet to the southwest corner of this parcel, which is marked with an aluminum capped iron monument (point 290); thence North 00 degrees 00.1 minute West a distance of 46.41 feet to the northwest corner of this parcel, which is marked with an aluminum capped iron monument (point 285) on the south line of the said taxiway; thence North 89 degrees 59.9 minutes East along the south line of the taxiway a distance of 51.00 feet to the point of beginning. *********** STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HAYS I, CHARLES R.
