<br />63 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1986-l26R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN <br />ORIGINAL POLICE DEPARTMENT RECORDS OF SAID <br />CITY ARE WORTHLESS, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO DISPOSE OF SUCH RECORDS IN A MANNER <br />CALCULATED TO DESTROY THEM IN THEIR ENTIRETY, <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 6574c, Section 3, V.A.C.S., and <br />Chapter 2, Article I, Section 2-3(c)(6) of the Code of Ordinances <br />of the City of San Marcos, the City Council of said City desires <br />to have certain original Police Department records destroyed: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such original Police Department records are not the <br />subject matter of any pending litigation: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, authorization for the destruction of said records <br />has been received from the State Librarian pursuant to Article <br />6574c, Section 3, V.A.C.S.: now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the City Council of said City has determined <br />that certain original Police Department records, a list of which <br />records is attached hereto and incorporated herein for all <br />purposes, are worthless. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and <br />directed to dispose of said original Police Department records in <br />a manner calculated to destroy them in their entirety. <br /> <br />PART 3.
