<br />(5 ) <br /> <br />( 6 ) <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />Steam Cleaning and Chemical Cleaning Facilities. <br />Drainage from steam cleaning and/or chemical cleaning <br />facilities shall not be discharged to the sanitary <br />sewer unless a facility or process is provided that <br />will consistently produce an effluent that is in <br />compliance with this Ordinance particularly in regards <br />to grease, oils, organics and phosphates; <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />Grease and Sand Trap Maintenance Notification. Any <br />industry with grease and sand trap pretreatment tanks <br />shall make the most recent waste haulers trip ticket <br />available to the City Environmental Specialist at the <br />service location. The hauler trip ticket shall reflect <br />the date that the tank was emptied, who emptied the <br />tank, and where the waste was delivered, reflecting <br />that it was disposed of in a manner and at a location <br />approved by all federal, state and local regulations <br />that pertain to this type and/or class of waste. <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br />Service stations and restaurants and other food service <br />establishments in existence on the effective date of <br />this ordinance and operating sand or grease traps <br />approved under the City Plumbing Code shall not be <br />required to upgrade those facilities except when a <br />building permit for remodeling to increase the service <br />capacity of the establishment is required. This <br />exemption may be revoked if it is shown that the <br />establishment fails to routinely empty the tank as may <br />be required by the permit. <br /> <br />National Pretreatment Standards. Any industry falling <br />within any industrial category subject to categorical <br />pretreatment standards promulgated pursuant to Section <br />307(b) and (c) of the Clean Water Act of 1977 shall comply <br />with all regulations, pretreatment requirements, and/or <br />discharge limits applicable to that particular industrial <br />category. National pretreatment regulations take precedence <br />over this Ordinance; provided, however, the industry shall <br />continue to meet specific discharge limits set forth in this <br />Ordinance which are not inconsistent with the categorical <br />pretreatment standards applicable to its industry, and more <br />stringent local standards. <br /> <br />Hazardous Waste Activity. Any industry or person, by site, <br />whose act or process produces hazardous waste identified or <br />listed in Part 261 of Title 40, Code of Federal Regulation <br />or whose act first causes a hazardous waste to become <br />subject to regulation, shall provide the Director with the <br />U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Identification Number <br />assigned to that generator as notice of conformance with <br />applicable state and federal regulations regarding the <br />disposal of hazardous waste. <br /> <br />SEC. 30-64. <br /> <br />( 1) <br /> <br />Special Procedures Relating to Industrial Waste. <br /> <br />Permits. After one hundred and eighty (180) days from the <br />adoption of this ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any <br />person to deposit or discharge industrial waste into any <br />sanitary sewer without having made application and obtained <br />an Industrial Waste Permit and having complied with all of <br />its applicable provisions. Any person desiring to deposit <br />or discharge, or who is now depositing or discharging <br />industrial waste into any sanitary sewer shall make <br />application to the Director for his approval or disapproval. <br />The application shall contain sufficient information <br />regarding the discharge of pollutants including those <br />referred to in Section 307(a) of the Clean Water Act of <br />1977, and listed in Appendix B to Title 40 Code of Federal <br />Regulations Part 403, for the Director to determine if the <br />owner or occupant will comply with the prohibitions and <br />pretreatment requirements set out in this Ordinance. The <br />Director shall approve an application and grant an <br />Industrial Waste Permit only when the evidence submi-tted by <br />the applicant demonstrates that the industrial waste to be <br /> <br />-10- <br />
