b.

In lieu of monitoring for all TTO compounds (as listed
in the Total Toxic Organic Compound table) Industrial
sources may make the following certification as a
comment to the quarterly reports:

-Based on my inquiry of the person or person
directly responsible for managing compliance with the
pretreatment standard for total toxic organics (TTO), I
certify that, to the best of my knowledge and belief,
no dumping of concentrated toxic organics into the
wastewaters has occurred since filing the last
discharge monitoring report. I further certify that
this facility is implementing the solvent management
plan (Spill Prevention and Control Plan i.e. -Best
Management Practices-) submitted to the control
authority.-

c.

The use of the certification statement above does not
exempt the Industrial Source from the following minimum
self-reporting requirement:

For Quarterly Reporting purposes, a sample analysis is
required, at the frequency stated in Part B, Section 2,
for each TTO compound whose process bath is immediately
followed by a water rinse operation. The use of the
certification statement (above) does not exempt the
Industrial source from this requirement, but from the
involved sampling and analytical requirement of testing
for each and every TTO compound on the list.

d.

Industrial sources that discharge less than 4,000
gallons per day shall have at least one sample analysis
per year to include each compound (Refer Total Toxic
Organic Compound table) if that compound is used in any
operation at the plant site. Industrial sources that
discharge over 4,000 gallons per day shall sample no
less than once each six months for such compounds.

II.

Additional Quarterly Monitoring Requirements

Industrial sources that discharge less than 4,00 gpd of
wastewater must manually measure pH four times a day.
that discharge more than 4,000 gpd shall automatically
and record the pH. Report the number, and times of
where the pH exceeds 11.0 or is less than 6.0. Report
for these events and the corrective action taken.

process
Sources
measure
duration
the cause

Sources discharging over 4,000 gpd shall analyze for
(Total) taken by a daily composite at least monthly.

Floride

-86-
