<br />EQUIPMENT REPAIR <br /> <br />Your business is included in the Equipment Repair category if you <br />operate a: <br /> <br />Radio and/or television repair shop, <br /> <br />Refrigeration and air conditioning service or repair shop, <br /> <br />Miscellaneous equipment repair shop (e.g., <br />household appliances or industrial equipment), <br /> <br />electrical <br /> <br />or if you repair equipment used for: <br /> <br />Pipelines (except natural gas) <br /> <br />Communications <br /> <br />Power generation/transmission <br /> <br />Automatic merchandising machines <br /> <br />Amusement parks <br /> <br />Not all equipment repair operations produce hazardous wastes. <br />However, if you use any strong acid/alkaline solutions, <br />flammable/combustible liquids, combustible solids, or paints <br />containing either flammable or combustible solvents, heavy metals or <br />both, it is possible that the wastes generated from using these <br />materials may be hazardous. If so, then you may be subject to <br />Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) provisions regarding the <br />transportation of small quantities of hazardous waste. <br /> <br />PRODUCTS CONTAINING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS <br /> <br />Every mechanic, repairmen and others use <br />hazardous materials. Products like: <br /> <br />products <br /> <br />containing <br /> <br />Rust removers, <br />solutions, <br /> <br />which <br /> <br />contain <br /> <br />strong <br /> <br />acid <br /> <br />or <br /> <br />alkaline <br /> <br />Degreasers, which contain flammable or combustible liquids, <br /> <br />Used rags containing combustible or flammable solvents, <br /> <br />Paints with flammable or combustible thinners or reducers, <br /> <br />contain chemicals or materials which are hazardous to human health and <br />the environment.
