35

Preliminary Proposal:

Contact Dana Butler at 392-0275

I.

II.

Through research our group has concluded that an
overpass, trauma center, and relocation of the train depot
are not feasible to the community of San Marcos. This is
due to the economic status of the federal, state, and local
budgets along with the uncontrollable regulations on the
right-of-way overpasses.

We propose that a helicopter be jointly utilized by the
Hays County Hospital, the San Marcos Fire Department, and
the San Marcos Police Department. This helicopter would
service the San Marcos community in emergencies and would
avoid the delays of emergency vehicles by trains.
The funding for the above proposal could be obtained
through the combined efforts of community interest groups,
departmental funds, and private donations.

III. We would like to return to the council on December 8, 1986,
the first Monday in December, with the results of our
presentations to the Chamber of Commerce, the League of
Women Voters, etc...

Thank you,

Dana Butler

Karen Cadle

Bill King

Trey Bircham

Douglas Michaelson

Darryl G. Bush

Stephanie McCarty
