Mr. Gonzalez stated the Council consider relocating the barracks to the airport for storage space. Mr.Guerra said there were many options the Council could consider for the barracks (Mr. Nicola was present at this time - 6:25 p.m.). Mr. Nicola stated he thinks the residents at the meeting indicated that they wanted the architec- tural design to remain the same and to add as much space as possible for the money. Mr. Brown asked Mr. Kester what the process would be for the design of the building. Mr. Kester stated he would go over the design with the Parks Director and with the ceramics program director for their needs. He was directed by Council to talk with all persons who would utilize the building. Mr. Coddington stated there had been a discussion regarding a basketball court and lights. Mr. Kester indicated that was not budgeted for in these funds. Mr. Gonzalez stated Mr. Kester is working with the figures from the insur- ance amount and the rehabilitation money and bond money in Year 4. Mr. Farr added all the insurance money is to go back into the building only. Ms. Kissler stated she wanted the available funds to go back into the building. Mr. Farr stated the City could use the street crew for the parking lot and for the City to see if they could do the paving for $20,000.00. It was consensus of Council to proceed with the external facade of the old building with a kitchen and for the parking and outside facilities to be handled at a later time as a separate issue. The Home Economics Building is not to be included in these funds for remodeling, but Mr. Kester indicated that building could be included simply for paint- ing of the exterior of the building but no internal renovation at this time.
