Mr.Guerra said there were many <br />options the Council could consider for the barracks (Mr. Nicola <br />was present at this time - 6:25 p.m.). Mr. Nicola stated he thinks <br />the residents at the meeting indicated that they wanted the architec- <br />tural design to remain the same and to add as much space as possible <br />for the money. Mr. Brown asked Mr. Kester what the process would be <br />for the design of the building. Mr. Kester stated he would go over <br />the design with the Parks Director and with the ceramics program <br />director for their needs. He was directed by Council to talk with <br />all persons who would utilize the building. Mr. Coddington stated <br />there had been a discussion regarding a basketball court and lights. <br />Mr. Kester indicated that was not budgeted for in these funds. Mr. <br />Gonzalez stated Mr. Kester is working with the figures from the insur- <br />ance amount and the rehabilitation money and bond money in Year 4. Mr. <br />Farr added all the insurance money is to go back into the building only. <br />Ms. Kissler stated she wanted the available funds to go back into the <br />building. Mr. Farr stated the City could use the street crew for the <br />parking lot and for the City to see if they could do the paving for <br />$20,000.00. It was consensus of Council to proceed with the external <br />facade of the old building with a kitchen and for the parking and outside <br />facilities to be handled at a later time as a separate issue.
