<br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />Sec. 21-21. Insurance and death benefits. <br /> <br />The City Council may, by resolution, provide hospital <br />and medical assistance to a member of the police <br />reserve force who sustains injury in the course of <br />performing official duties ln the same manner as <br />provided by the City Council for a full-time police <br />officer, and reserve officers shall be eligible for <br />death benefits as set out in Chapter 86, Acts of 60th <br />Legislature, Regular Session, 1967, as amended (Article <br />6228f, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), prbvided, <br />however, that nothing in this Ordinance shall be <br />construed to authorize or permit a member of the police <br />reserve force to become eligible for participation in <br />any pension fund created pursuant to State statute to <br />which regular officers may become a member by payroll <br />deductions or otherwise. <br /> <br />Sec. 21-22. Inapplicability of article l269m. <br /> <br />Members of the police reserve force are not covered by <br />Firemen's and Policemen's Civil Service as provided for <br />in V.A.C.S. Article 1269m. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the importance of this Ordinance to <br />the public welfare and the public good creates an emergency <br />and an imperative public necessity so that the provisions of <br />the Charter requiring that ordinances shall be presented at <br />three separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become <br />effective until the expiration of ten (lO) days following <br />the date of its final passage be suspended, and these <br />provisions are hereby suspended, and this Ordinance shall <br />take effect and be in full force and effect from and after <br />its adoption and after its publication in a newspaper of <br />general circulation within the City. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this28th:~ay of January , <br />1985. <br />~. /,,/ <br /> <br />~~ ~) <br />¿/..
