Hopkins Street
San Marcos, Texas 78666
Dear Mr. Gonzales:
This letter summarizes the agreement I believe we have reached
regarding the University's acquisition of the City pump property
on Comanche Street. In this letter I use the phrase "Sessoms
Drive property" to refer to the City's property located adjacent
to Sessoms Drive, across from the intersection of Sessoms Drive
and Comanche Street. I use the phrase "Comanche Street property"
to refer to the property on Comanche Street now owned by the
City and on which it operates two water wells. As I understand
it, we have agreed as follows:
1. The City and the University will develop bid
specifications for a two-phase project to
construct two water wells on the City's
property located adjacent to Sessoms Drive,
opposite the intersection of Sessoms Drive
and Comanche Street. Phase I of the project
will consist of an engineering study, test
hole, and pump test on the City's property to
determine if two water wells on that property
will produce as much water as the two wells on
the property near Comanche Street now owned
and operated by the City.
Phase II of the project will be the construction
of the water wells on the Sessoms Drive property
and the associated facilities, according to the
bid specifications.
2. After the bid specifications are prepared, the
City will solicit bids on the project.
