<br /> PART IV PROGRAM NARRATIVE, cont'd <br /> An estimated timetable for the expansion project is given below: <br /> April 1984 City of San Marcos voters approve the sale of $450,000 in <br /> bonds to expand the library. <br /> April 19, 1985 LSCA Title II preapplication is submitted to the State Library <br /> and the Capital Area Planning Council for review. <br /> June 1985 The State Libral'y recommends approval of the expansion <br /> project based on preapplication. <br /> Aug. 1, 1985 The final application is submitted to the State Library. <br /> Aug. 31, 1985 The State Library signs a contract with the City of <br /> San Marcos to expend grant funds. <br /> Sept. 15, 1985 The City engages the services of a library building consul- <br /> tant and appoints a library building committee to prepare a <br /> written building program and furniture/equipment specs. <br /> Nov. 15, 1985 The building program is completed and submitted to the <br /> State Libral-y for review. <br /> Jan. 15, 1986 The City engages the services of licensed architects and <br /> engineers to prepare the plans, specifications, site surveys, <br /> and soil investigations necessary for the project. <br /> May 15, 1986 Final working plans, specifications, etc., aloe completed <br /> and submitted to the State Library for approval. <br /> July 15, 1986 The expansion project is placed on the market fol- bids. <br /> Sept. 30, 1986 A construction contract is signed with the selected builde¡- <br /> and construction begins. <br /> June 30, 1987 Furniture/equipment specifications are released to the <br /> suppliers for bids. <br /> Aug. 15, 1987 A contract for the supply of furniture and equipment is <br /> signed with the selected supplier. <br /> Feb. 15, 1988 Construction on the building is completed, inspected and <br /> accepted by the City. <br /> March 15, 1988 Furnishings and equipment are received and installed. <br /> Aug. 31, 1988 All grant funds are expended by the City. <br /> Nov. 30, 1988 Final audit of grant funds is conducted by independent <br /> CPA and submitted to the State Library. <br />
