capacity reservation fee will be $500.00 pe r LUE (Living Uni t
Equivalent) in nc1dition to the normal capital recovery fee.
This City policy takes precedence over any priority list which
currently exists; however, this policy will not affect the
wastewater capacity allocated to developers who paid for
reservations as per the Septemeber 14/ 1984, Letter of Invitation,
Understanding and Agreement of Reservation of Wastewater Package
Plant Capacity.
The City will make available \'lastewater capacity under this policy
for the 4,200 LUE's remaining on the City's current treatment
plant permit of 6.25 million gallons per day as need dictates.
The City reserves the right to make special allocations of 800
LUE's of this capacity for single family and industrial
developmen't.
Capacity is available immediately as provided above; however,
building permits will provide an additional provision that the
Certificates of Occupancy for the project will not be issued until
the third package plant is under contract. tie expect this
contract to be awarded within two months.
This policy will enable San Marcos to provide wastewater service to
those projects ready for development. Since we expect the permanent
facility to be completed by August, 1986 and since planning is underway
for additional treatment facilities beyond the 6.25 million gallons per
day capacity, we are confident this disruption in the local economy due
to inadequate wastewater treatment capacity can be avoided in the
future.
We appreciate your involvement and participation in the City's effort
to address these serious problems. If you have any questions
concerning this policy, please do not hesitate to contact our City
r4anager, A. C. Gonzalez.
Sincerely,
Emmie Craddock,
Þ-1ayor
cc: City Council
Lamar Hankins, City Attorney
A. C. Gonzalez, City Manager
George Boeker / Director of Public Works
Bob Herrera, Assistant City Manager
Frank Robbins, Director of Planning
Stephen Jenkins, Director of Environment and Engineering
EC:ACG:sdb
